It is now more than ever the time to reflect upon the role of the South Asian community in American society. This is what the South Asian Americans in Public Service's second issue of Shakti, "Strong Communities, Strong Voices," aims to do.

Shakti is a platform for South Asian American political and civic expression. The mission of the magazine is to encapsulate the experience of South Asians living in the United States through the lens of civic engagement.
